This is how four-year-old He Yide spent his Chinese New Yeah holiday.
Running half-naked in the streets of New York City, he begs his father to pick him up.
But instead his father forces him to do push-ups.
The video was posted anonymously on a Chinese video sharing website and has gone viral ever since, prompting sharp criticism of the father's parenting style.
But, He Liesheng, now back home in Naning, insists that he's simply training his son who was born with developmental difficulties. He says it is the best way to improve the boy's physical strength and health he says.

"He has to walk for at least three kilometres everyday. He has never had a hot shower in winter since he was little."
And, like in most households in China, he says parents need to guard against pampering their only child.

"I want to claim that although our children, Chinese children, are from single-child families, they are not spoiled and pampered, and our children are not inferior to those from Japan and South Korea,"
But his son isn't convinced. When asked if he thought the work outs were for his own good, he replied with a simple, "No".
