Israel released 227 Palestinian prisoners Monday in a gesture to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who welcomed them in Ramallah but declared that the "joy won't be complete until Israel frees all Palestinian prisoners. 209 prisoners were transferred from Ofer Prison, to the Beituniya checkpoint in the West Bank. and 18 prisoners were totransferred from the Shikma Prison in the Negev, to the Erez checkpoint on the Israel-Gaza border .12/15/08
