Thousands protest austerity measures in Barcelona

Thousands marched through the streets of Barcelona to protest austerity measures in Spain's north-eastern region.
Their message was clear --- No to spending cuts.
Demonstrators included many teachers, police officers and hospital staff who are furious about salary cuts and tax increases.
Much of Spain is under pressure from the central government to bring down the country's deficit and and make sure the country does not get dragged into the debt crisis that has already forced Greece, Ireland and Portugal to seek financial bailouts.
