The Foreign Minister of Syria said on Sunday that his country may resort to more painful measures if the United States does not give an official explanation for its deadly cross-border raid on October 26th which killed eight people. In response to the raid, Syria ordered the closure of an American school and cultural center in Damascus, but the Foreign Minister said that those measures were only the beginning. Speaking in a TV interview he warned that Syria may escalate its response. 11/03/08
