Kadima faction head Yoel Hasson announced on Tuesday that the party would push for holding elections on February 10 2009, 111 days after Monday's declaration by President Shimon Peres that he would not giving anyone the mandate to form a government in the current Knesset. According to this announcement and in accordance with Israeli law, elections are set to fall on February 10. At the end of a faction heads' meeting, it was decided that the elections could be postponed to February 17, through legislation, due to the desired date's proximity to the holiday of Tu BShvat. The meeting attendees also decided that the Knesset would go on its election break on November the 11th. 10/28/08
