A Jerusalem company says it has installed solar systems in 48 schools in the capital to save on electricity costs. The Moriah Jerusalem Development Company said it has a contract with the Israel Electric Corporation for 20 years, and estimates once the system is installed in all Jerusalem schools it will generate about 2.5 megawatts of electricity per hour. The company acknowledged that while the investment is a hefty one it is expected to reap returns within ten years. The company's chef executive officer Alex Weisman said the company is committed to protecting the environment and is determined to promote green projects, to improve the quality of life for the residents living in Israel's capital city.
