Hours after a Grad rocket fired from Gaza exploded north of Beersheba, the army targeted four suspected terror sites in air strikes in Gaza. A Palestinian was killed and five wounded in the air strikes that hit a weapons smuggling tunnel near the border with Egypt and other sites in southern, eastern and central Gaza. In one of the strikes, members of a Palestinian terror cell on the verge of firing mortar shells at Israel was hit the army said. One cell member was injured and later died of his wounds. A statement released by the army said Israel holds Hamas responsible for maintaining the calm and will act determinedly against those seeking to harm Israeli civilians. Late Monday night early warning sirens alerted residents in Beersheba and the surrounding area to an incoming rocket attack. One Grad rocket fired from Gaza exploded in an area north of the city, causing no damage or injury the army said.
