Mubarak has been hospitalized in Sharm el-Sheik since his ouster in February and his declining health has been the subject of speculation. The director of the hospital Mohammed Fathallah told the news agency the former president is refusing to eat food and consumes only juice and liquids. Fathallah said Mubarak has lost a lot of weight and is extremely weak. Mubarak is due to stand trial on August 3 on charges of corruption and abuse of power and responsibility for the death of protesters during the uprising. Unfit to be moved to stand trial in Cairo judicial authorities may move the trial to Sharm e-Sheik but a lot depends on the former president's failing health.
