The EnvironmentalMinistry issued a memo on Thursdaywith a new law in order to recycle electronic equipment. Under the newlaw, liability will be imposed on manufacturers and importers of electronicproducts in Israel to fund the evacuation and treatment of waste caused by theproducts they market. The law provides incentivesfor electronic equipment, in order to encourage re-use of the equipment, and toreduce the amount of waste generated from these products. The law brings otherbenefits such as prevention of health hazards, creating new markets,and making newjobs that will help thousands of unemployed in Israel.
