Due to a public outcry, Ashkelon Mayor, Benny Vaknin, has decided not to participate in the TV reality series, "The Amazing Race." A spokesman in the Mayor's office stated that Mr. Vaknin changed his mind in light of the current security situation that the city of Ashkelon faces. The contestants on the TV series were meant to take off on the first stage of the competition on Wednesday.
