Samuel Kunz, world's third most wanted Nazi, died at the age of 89 in Germany before he could be brought to trial. Kunz was indicted on charges of involvement in the entire process of killing 430,000 Jews at the Belzec death camp: from taking victims from trains to pushing them into gas chambers to throwing corpses into mass graves. He is also accused of personally shooting dead 10 people. Kunz passed away on Nov. 18th, before even having a trial date. Though the cause of death was not released, it is noted that he died in his hometown near Bonn. Dr. Efraim Zurrof, a Nazi hunter, expressed deep frustration regarding this discontinued case and stated that he urges the German authorities to expedite the remaining cases so that justice can be achieved.
