Israeli Nature photographers receive British price

The prestigious price for a photography contest of the British Natural History Museum and the BBC goes to Israel. The gifted photographers are Ilia Shalamaev and Yossi Eshbol. Several thousand pictures were submitted to this year's Nature Photography contest in Britain. It is a cooperation of the Natural History Museum in London and the Nature Magazine of the BBC sponsored by Veolia Environment. All pictures will be presented in an exhibition in London's Natural History Museum. The exhibition is to travel within the UK, as well as abroad. More than 100,000 visitors are expected to view the exhibition in London. By the end of April more than 1 million people will have viewed the pictures worldwide. The two Israelis received the price in the category of bird behavior. Eshbol, one of Israel's senior nature photographers, received a special praise for his picture of the stilt plover and it's chicks. Parts of the price include the binding of a book with the pictures, an official calender, as well as several placards all over London and it's Underground.
