Israeli artists doubt summer success for 2010

Recent political events may have a serious effect on the music scene in Israel and for Israeli performers. Asaf Avidan, Aviv Gefen and the produer of David Broza say that everything is going as planned.However David Daor and the managers of Achinoam Nini and are worried. The summer of 2010 was meant to be the golden hour for Israeli performers, a whole host of well known Israeli singers and bands had concerts scheduled across the world with many intenational acts scheduled in Israel too, until the Mavi Marmara sailed its way towards the Gaza coastline. With 15,000 tickets sold, singer Elvis Costello has cancelled a concert in Israel following pressure from human right groups and anti-Israel activists. Despite this, several high profile names have promised to perform in Israel this summer, acts including Elton John, Rod Stewart, Seal, Susan Vega and Ozzie Osborne
