Outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert spoke at a ceremony on Mount Herzl on Thursday commemorating the 30th anniversary of the death of former Prime Minister Golda Meir. During his speech the Prime Minister spoke about Meirs perceived failure during the Yom Kippur War, noting that because Meir headed the government during war, she was unjustly blamed for its outbreak. In an apparent allusion to his own perceived failures in the second Lebanon war Olmert encouraged the Israeli public to be more understanding. 12/04/08
