Syria slammed a US strike which killed eight people within Syrias borders on Sunday evening, calling the attack a heinous crime and saying Damascus reserved the right to respond as it would see fit. A US military official said Air Force helicopters targeted a terrorist base on the Iraqi-Syrian border, where elements of the Syrian military and al-Qaeda operatives trained fighters from across the Middle East. 10/27/08
