US Vice President Cheney is wrapping up a tour of the region in Israel. His visit to Jerusalem served to reassure Israeli leaders that America believes Israel has a right to defend itself. He also made the case for neutralizing the Iranian threat before the country materializes a nuclear weapon. The message was part of a broader committment to assure Israel that the US will never ask Israel to take actions that could put security at risk. 3/23/2008
