Representatives of Hebron's Jewish community met with local heads of Palestinian clans in the city on Sunday to thank them for refusing an order to destroy the Hazon David synagogue that is located at the entrance to Kiryat Arba and built on land belonging to the Jabri clan.In a city that has witnessed the spilling of blood on both sides, Sunday's meeting was an attempt to ease the tensions between the Jewish and Palestinians living in the city. Shortly after the meeting, the Fatah al Aksa Martyrs Brigade called on the public to deal with those who particiipated in the meeting with an iron fist.02/11/08
