The Israeli Government took sharp action Friday to put an end to the Kassam rockets fired daily into southern Israel. Defense Minister Ehud Barak went to the towns near Israel's border with Gaza to see the destruction there for himself. He promised to do everything in the Government's power to stop the Hamas-led Kassam cells. That may include an expanded I.D.F. incursion deep into Gaza. Friday morning, Hamas fired eight more Kassam rockets into Israeli towns near the border with Gaza. The Palestinian-led terrorist group has launched more than 130 Kassams in the past three days.
