In a flurry of diplomatic activity ahead of next month's Mideast summit, Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babcan arrived in Israel on Sunday directly from Damascus, to discuss the issues at hand and receive assurances from Israel regarding the air strike in Syria last month. After visiting the Temple Mount Babcan met with President Shimon Peres, where he conveyed the importance of Syria's role in the Mideast process.In efforts to torpedo the summit and derail negotiations, Palestinian terror groups fired a Grad missile into Israel on Sunday as Olmert convned the cabinet meeting. The missile landed in an open area outside of Netivot, no one was injured and no damages reported.
