http://www.nma.tv/ Since the end of September shopping malls began their anniversary sales. Large amounts of sales info confuses customers, even inducing bipolar disease among some. A 40-year-old woman's bipolar disease broke out in Taipei during this shopping wave. She bought dozens of brand-name bags during the sales and gave some of them to her friends. She took her friends from mall to mall spending around NT$300,000 in total. The woman's husband discovered the bags and took her to the doctor. She denied bipolar disorder, bringing along the three friends to testify, and only when the doctor seperated the three to question them did one of them admit her illness. (Woman's friend): She was very generous, so I took advantage of her. The woman is now in hospital, her family however hopes to take back the bags. According to lawyers, if her friends don't return the bags, it won't constitute a crime but could be dealt with as a civil dispute. Furthermore, most luxury boutiques don't give refunds, so this can only be handled as a special case. According to the Consumers' Foundation, if the woman's family shows sufficient physical proof, the luxury boutiques should still give a refund.
