Australian celebrity chef Matt Golinski is fighting for his life after fire tore through this house in Queensland.
Four other people thought to be his wife and three daughters were killed.
Police say the fire broke out in the early hours of the morning.
Ambulance staff say the time of year makes the tragedy all the more poignant.
SOUNDBITE: Rick Tenthy, ambulance operations supervisor, saying (English):
"I think it's appalling isn't it. Like as I said earlier, particularly because of the time of the year like it's, you know, the Christmas period, it's a time for us to gather with our families, happy times, you know, safe times, and this is just an appalling tragedy."
Matt Golinski appears on a cooking show for Australian broadcaster Network Ten.
He's been airlifted to hospital.
He's said to be in a critical condition with burns to more than 40 per cent of his body.
