A search is underway for about 300 illegal migrants missing after their boat sank off the coast of Indonesia.
Another 76 have been rescued.
Police say they were in the water for hours before their plight was spotted.
SOUNDBITE: Trenggalek police chief Totok Suharyanto saying (Bahasa Indonesia):
"The boat was overturned by huge waves and the passengers were in the sea for more than six hours. Fishermen helped them. The first 33 were brought here."
The survivors found so far are recovering at a clinic on the southern coast of Java.
The sinking is the latest in a series of similar disasters in recent years.
Many migrants use Indonesia as a transit point on the way to Australia.
Asylum seekers often pay thousands of dollars to make the treacherous journey across the Indian Ocean.
The trips are organised by people-smuggling networks based in Indonesia using poorly equipped, ramshackle boats to make the dangerous crossing.
