Britney Spears is engaged to her boyfriend Jason Trawick. Spears posted a message on Twitter about receiving "the one gift" for which she has longed. Reports are that Trawick popped the question at a private dinner Thursday (December 15) on his 40th birthday. Spears was previously married to dancer Kevin Federline for two years, with whom she has two children.
Etta James, whose health has been fading in recent years, is now terminally ill, and her live-in doctor is asking for prayers. The 73-year-old singer is suffering from chronic leukemia that was declared incurable two weeks ago. James was hospitalized last May over a life-threatening blood infection.
Katy Perry has been named MTV's first artist of the year. Perry beat out contender Adele, thanks to her string of hit songs throughout 2011. However, Adele's song, "Rolling in the Deep" was chosen top song of the year.
Finally, Justin Bieber performed a private concert for a Las Vegas elementary school. The concert came after the singer pledged to donate 100,000 dollars to the school for it's program that provides for low-income families.
