Putting on the finishing touches.
Colin Firth is the latest celebrity to have his wax figure on display at Mme Tussauds in London.
The museum is excited to finally have him there:
SOUNDBITE Liz Edwards, PR Manager, Mme Tussauds, saying (English):
"Colin Firth has been one of the most popular figure requested at Mme Tussauds and the fact that he won an Oscar at the beginning of this year, we felt it was a great way to round off the year and get him another accolade which was a wax figure in Mme Tussauds."
Colin Firth will take up his place in the A-List Party area of the museum. He will be joined by statues of Hollywood stars Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, and George Clooney and, this being the festive season, of course Father Christmas.
Madame Tussauds decided that his particular pose should reflect his many red carpet appearances.
SOUNDBITE Liz Edwards, PR Manager, Mme Tussauds, saying (English):
"Because he's in the A-List party area we wanted to capture him walking along the red carpet so this pose is chosen exactly from that as he's going to an awards ceremony and that's what we wanted to recreate so hundreds of hours were spent watching Colin Firth which is a great job to have."
Earlier this year, Firth received an Oscar for his portrayal of King George VI in 'The King's Speech'.
His latest film 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' is also expected to fare well in the upcoming awards season.
Firth did not attend any sessions at Madame Tussauds but is said to be excited to have his figure there.
SOUNDBITE Liz Edwards, PR Manager, Mme Tussauds, saying (English):
"Colin Firth hasn't actually been able to give us a sitting or see the figure yet but we've worked really closely with his management and he sent over all of his measurements as he was very excited to be part of the Mme Tussauds process. We've sent an invitation for him to come along and see and hopefully he will do soon."
The figure took four months to complete and cost 150,000 Pound Sterling to make.
