International development agency Christian Aid is urging Nick Clegg to put climate change at the heart of any deal which allows the formation of a new government. In the second leaders debate on 22 April Nick Clegg said he wanted this country to lead on climate change, describing it as the biggest challenge of all. Melanie Ward, senior UK political advisor at Christian Aid said: These negotiations are the first true test of whether Clegg is really committed to stopping catastrophic climate change. Tough action to halt climate change and deal with its effects must be at the heart of any political deal.
