The explosion Saturday rocked the city of Kunduz, killing two and injuring 16.
Among the dead was Sher Mohammad Arab, a former militant who became involved in efforts to bring peace to the warn-torn country.
Police say the bomb that killed him was strapped to a bicycle.
It was the latest in a string of attacks in Afghanistan that have left 60 dead in the last week.
