Here is Barack Obama insisting to reporters yesterday that extending the payroll tax holiday and unemployment benefits will spur economic growth. Not only that, he adds, but doing those two things will create more jobs than the Keystone Pipeline (which the administration is blocking by the way).
As usual, Obama cites “independent” economists to back him up on his cockamamie claims. Funny how he never tells us who these geniuses are.
Yeah, that payroll tax cut really juiced the economy over the past year, didn’t it? Raise your hand if you are an employer and hired a single person as a result of the payroll tax cut.
Anyone? Anyone?
And the idea that extending unemployment benefits creates jobs – well that’s just absurd on its face.
