At least two Hamas militants are killed by an Israeli air strike on a crowded street in Gaza Thursday.
The Israeli army and local medical officials says two others were also wounded in the attack.
The Islamist party has been in power in Gaza since 2007 and has accused Israel of ratcheting up violence in the area.
An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed that the two militants were targeted for their part in planning an attack on Israeli civilians and soldiers along the Egyptian border.
An army statement said one of those killed was in a militant group linked to Fatah -- the party which holds power in the West Bank.
The statement said he'd been involved in planning a suicide attack in Eilat in 2007, in which three Israeli civilians were killed.
