Me playing the organ at the Plaza cinema in Stockport.
The organ was built by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd for the opening of the cinema on 6th October 1932 and is one of the very few that remains in its original location. The organ has 3 manuals and there are 11 ranks of pipes contained in 2 enclosed chambers (one above the other) situated to the right of the proscenium and speak into the auditorium through ornamental grilles.
In the first part of the video I ascend on the lift in classic cinema organ style playing a snippet of the Gracie Fields hit 'The first time I saw you' before playing the worship song from Mission Praise 'Jubilate, everybody' which transfers well on the cinema organ.
NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on dailymotion.
