CITGO’s headquarters building in Houston has been awarded LEED Gold Certification for an Existing Building by the U.S. Green Building Council. CITGO implemented many green retrofits in the areas of energy efficiency, water usage, and construction materials to earn the sustainability award. The Leadership in Energy and Environment Design ratings are given out for sustainable improvements in existing structures as well as for new buildings.
The Conference Board has identified the top drivers of corporate contributions as the size of a company’s workforce in the local market and humanitarian needs. The organization’s study, “The 2011 Corporate Contributions Report,” details results from a survey of 139 U.S.-based corporations, and compared data from 2011 against a 2008 benchmark.
