A voice like no other - Amy Winehouse looks set to top the charts again, when her posthumous album hits stores on Monday (December 5).
Emotional no doubt for her fans to hear, her father Mitch found it very difficult to listen to.
SOUNDBITE: Mitch Winehouse, saying (English):
"We had to listen to it because if it wasn't up to scratch we wouldn't have allowed it to go out, but we weren't pleasantly surprised we were stunned at how wonderful the album is.''
Including this duet with Tony Bennett - Lioness: Hidden Treasures is already topping Amazon's British bestseller list ahead of its release.
Often in the headlines for the wrong reasons, even Mitch admits sometimes her talent was overshadowed.
SOUNDBITE: Mitch Winehouse, saying (English):
"We were so busy chasing her around all over the place that we forgot how brilliant she was, that's the truth you know, because she was just our kid you know, just a normal girl, who did normal things and who had this incredible talent who nobody knew, even she didn't know, where it came from, so we kind of took it all for granted, but you know what, she was a genius.''
Loved by family and fans alike, after drinking too much alcohol - Amy passed away on July 23rd 2011.
She was just 27.
Now Mitch wants something positive to come from the tragedy:
SOUNDBITE: Mitch Winehouse, saying (English):
''Our work is our future and we aim to create a legacy for Amy through her music but also through our fundraising that will last forever and it does make us feel better."
