Destruction at a fruit and vegetable market in the Iraqi town of Khalis.
A car bomb in this mainly Shi'ite area killed at least ten people and wounded over 25.
The explosion left a crater in the ground and a number of destroyed vehicles.
There've been other recent attacks in the area.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MUTHNA AL-TAMIMI, HEAD OF SECURITY COMMITTEE IN DIYALA PROVINCIAL COUNCIL:
"There have been a number of attempts targeting the security situation in our beloved province. Yesterday there was an attack on Baldrouz town and this morning there was a car bomb attack in Khalis. This attack led to a number of people being killed and injured."
Khalis is in a province which is an al-Qaeda stronghold just north east of Baghdad.
The attack here highlights the country's fragile security situation as the U.S. withdraws its troops and leaves a rebuilt Iraqi security force to take over.
