STORY: The U.S. Secretary of State travelled to the commercial capital of Yangon on Thursday (December 01) where she went barefoot as part of Buddhist tradition at a revered shrine, the Shwedagon Pagoda.
A crowd of tourists and local visitors applauded as Clinton made the rounds, stopping to hit a bell for good luck at the elaborate pagoda site.
Clinton said on Thursday the United States will support more aid for Myanmar and will consider installing an ambassador after an absence of some two decades, offering the first rewards for reform.
