A fire in downtown Hong Kong killed at least nine people and injured 30 early on Wednesday (November 30) morning.
The blaze spread through Mongkok, ripping through street stalls before engulfing old, multi-storey buildings nearby.
The Guinness World Records lists Mongkok as having the highest population density in the world,
The Fire Services Department battled the blaze for over five hours before bringing it under control around 0900 local time (0100GMT).
Firefighters then searched for residents and bodies at the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the blaze and say arson has not been ruled out.
