Home Décor: Choosing Pillows for Master Bedroom - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Let us talk about pillows for your master bedroom. When you are deciding how many pillows, what size pillows, what color pillows do I want for my master bedroom, there is lots of things to think about. First of all, you might think about your sleep pillows. That is the first layer. Those are never going to be removed from the bed. So if you have four sleep pillows or two sleep pillows, that is fine. That is not an issue. Next, you might want to think about the decorativeness of your bedding. Your decorative pillows are going to go in front of your sleep pillows. They are going to hide the pillows that you sleep with. The size is the most important thing because if you are trying to hide them then you want them slightly larger or maybe you want them to have a decorative element or be embellishes so that they can hide your sleep pillows. Usually you choose your pillows based on the size of the bed. So if it is a queen size or king size bed, you will probably two or three pillows in front of your sleep pillows then you will have a couple of decorative throw pillows and they will be smaller to bring in the color, to bring in a little bit of a design element, texture and to make it a little fun. Other issues to consider when you are playing with your pillows on your bed is to think about your drapes, your wall colors. This room, in particular, is white so it is a nice pallet to bounce off of. This pillow, for example, has the colors in our bedspread and also in our drapes. It is got a white background and it has a nice green that we also see in the bedding that is in our coverlet and in our duvet. These pillows here, they do not have the same pattern but they have the same colors that are in our bedding. The pillows behind that cover our sleep pillows, they are actually the same pattern as the duvet, so they are actually complimenting and working with your duvet. And those are the types of pillows, the number of pillows and the colors that you might choose for your master bedroom.
