Across Egypt -- protesters are calling for an end to military rule. In the port city of Alexandria, they took to the streets -- demanding the Army hand over power to elected civilians.
In Cairo, an estimated 50,000 people gathered in Tahrir Square to protest a plan which would make the Army exempt from government oversight. Women could also be seen among the protesters.
Political groups at both ends of the political spectrum take issue with the idea of an unchecked military with many calling for presidential elections to be held by April of next year.
Military leaders haven't specified just when they will hand over power -- saying it will happen sometime in 2012.
