Eddie Murphy quits Oscar gig; Freeman to be honored

Comedian Eddie Murphy has pulled out as host of this year's Academy Awards after his creative partner and Oscar producer Brett Ratner resigned, stepping down on Tuesday (November 8) in the face of an industry firestorm over his use of a gay slur.
Murphy released a statement saying that he completely understood and supported each party's decision with regard to a change of producers and is sure the new team will do a great job.
The Academy has announced that veteran producer Brian Grazer will step in as Ratner's replacement. The show will air on Sunday, February 26, 2012.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the organization that puts on the annual Golden Globe Awards show, announced that they will be honoring actor Morgan Freeman with the 2012 Cecil B. DeMille Award. The 74-year-old legendary actor will be honored with the lifetime achievement award at the 69th Annual Golden Globes ceremony, which will take place on January 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Mariah Yeater, the woman who claims to be carrying singer Justin Bieber's baby, had an emotional interview on US entertainment television program "The Insider" Wednesday (November 09) to discuss her allegations of a liaison with the star following a concert in Los Angeles.
Yeater told "The Insider" that she will prove her story in court.
Bieber has vehemently denied the allegations.
Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday (November 09) for the second time in less than a month after complications arose from her recently replaced feeding tube.
Gabor has been in and out of hospitals numerous times since July 2010, when she fell out of bed and broke her hip. Last January, doctors amputated a portion of her leg and in February, she was treated for a lung infection.
More than two years after the death of Michael Jackson, the contents from his family home, including his deathbed, fine arts and furnishings, will go on sale at at Julien's Auctions Gallery in Beverly Hills on December 17, 2011.
