Hong Kong is gearing up for a special kind of competition -- Sweden's Santa Claus Winter Games. But the fact that Hong Kong is a city where snow never falls and houses have no chimneys, is not stopping Jolly Old Saint Nick from brining some holiday cheer.

Hong Kong's Santa Clauses are competing for the title of best Santa this week to win a spot to compete at Sweden's 2011 Santa Claus Winter Games.

The eight contestants had to prove they were good at doing their jobs -- riding on a sled and delivering gifts.

[Mario Wong, Contestant]:
"Whether I win or not... you never know if you would win or lose, it all depends on the judge. The most important thing is to have fun. Today I'm here not to win, but it's most important to have fun. If people can see, 'oh, he's having fun!' then it's good enough."

Hong Kong resident Jim Chan won the competition two years ago. He's been dressing up as Old Saint Nick for 18 years.

[Jim Chan, World's Best Santa 2009]:
"Heh heh, basically every Santa Claus has his own trademark trick. But, as everyone can see, he knows magic. He can show you his magic tricks."

The winner was Mario Wong, who will represent Hong Kong at the Santa Claus Winter Games, which will be held from November 17 to 19.
