Six volunteers have stepped into the outside world after spending the last one-and-a-half-years locked away in a capsule at a Russian space centre to simulate the effects of a return trip to Mars. The experiment aimed to discover how astronauts could cope with a long period of confinement but it will be decades before astronauts embark on a real trip to the red planet. Duration: 02:02
