Indonesian rescue crews set off again, searching for bodies and possible survivors from Tuesday's tragedy.
The bodies of eight women and children have so far been pulled out of the water off the coast of West Java, after a boat carrying asylum seekers capsized.
Scores though are still missing.
The overcrowded vessel is reported to have been carrying over 70 people, from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, en route to Australia to claim asylum.
On Thursday, police arrested the three crew members.
During questioning, one of them admitted the boat has a capacity for only 30 passengers.
Survivors are now staying at a local shelter, while 15 people are still being treated at a nearby local community health centre.
Indonesian police say that thousands have died in recent years due to sinking boats as they attempt the treacherous crossing to Australia to seek asylum.
