Pool has built churches in South Africa and Vietnam and a hospice home in Costa Rica. The trips became the inspiration behind Soda Steve’s, a theme restaurant built to inspire people to volunteer. There’s a mission tip jar and a never-ending slideshow of photos from past work trips. Pool says he wants customers to go home with is the idea that, ‘Whether you live in the inner city or you live in a suburb, there are missions within ten miles of your house.” He hopes more people will find their own ways to help others.
