Floods force Thai tanks into retreat

Thai military secure an armoured personnel carrier to a truck as floodwaters reach the front of a military base in Bangkok.
A total of 16 APCs were moved to a military base in a non-flooded province some 350 kilometres north of Thailand's capital.
Meanwhile, angry flood victims tried to access a flood gate, demanding more water be released into the San Seab canal - as they have been flooded for nearly a month.
Thai media reported the protest began on Sunday when residents outside the protection of the flood wall started dismantling flood defences.
The protest continued for seven hours, until officials agreed to open the water gate slightly.
Thailand's floods have killed at least 381 people since July, and affected more than two million.
