American actor John Malkovich makes his theatrical debut in Peru.
In Lima to launch the South American leg of his play "The Infernal Comedy: Confessions of a Serial Killer", Malkovich said the run marks one of the final stages of the world tour.

"When we finish touring South America, we end this season in New York at BAM, Brooklyn Academy of Music, on the 19th of November."
The controversial play tells the real-life story of celebrated Austrian author, Jack Unterweger, who was also a notorious serial killer, brutally murdering 11 prostitutes in three countries.
Malkovich has drifted between the stage performance and screen throughout his decades in the spotlight.
However, the star is split on which medium he prefers.
SOUNDBITE: John Malkovich, actor, saying (English):
"I don't know that I can say that I have a preference. I grew up working in the theater and I constantly returned to the theater but they are very different experiences making a movie and doing a play. They're not even cousins."
Having starred in 80 films and directed and produced over a dozen, the 57-year-old actor shows no sign of slowing down as he looks to push his craft further.
SOUNDBITE: John Malkovich, actor, saying (English):
"If I have a gift (acting), then all the more reason to work hard and challenge it."
Malkovich's next stop on his world tour is Colombia.
