Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited the Australian War Memorial in Canberra on Tuesday, to pay tribute to Australia's fallen soldiers.
Hundreds of spectators gathered outside, braving rainy weather to get a glimpse of the royal couple.
The Queen was greeted with loud cheers as she waved to the crowd. She then laid a wreath of red poppies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, while a lone bugler played The Last Post.
Australia's former defence chief, Major Peter Cosgrove, accompanied the royal couple through the Hall of Memory, as they paused to take a look at the falling rain.
On leaving the War Memorial, the Queen and Prince Philip took the time to greet some of the many school children who had turned out for the occasion, accepting numerous bouquets of flowers and other gifts.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are in Australia for a 10-day visit, taking in Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne.
