Residents in northern Bangkok struggle to keep dry... flood waters have arrived, in a big way.
In the distance, Bangkok's central business area where authorities are scrambling to divert the water to the sea.
Here in the outter suburbs... residents move their belongings to higher ground and set up camp, in this case, along the railroad tracks.
Some residents have a matter-of-fact attitude about the whole thing.
(SOUNDBITE) (Thai) NUTCHANART SRIPOON, 54 YEAR-OLD BANGKOK RESIDENT SAYING:
"I always monitor news and pray that it will not flood here but now floodwater comes. It's a natural disaster. What can I do?, We have to accept it and be patient with it."
In the more urban areas, businesses, department stores, streets... all under water.
Officials say flood waters have affected more than 2.4 million people and say at least 256 people have been killed in flood related incidents since July.
