The Thai government has yet to declare a state of emergency fearing it may scare off tourists or investors.
In the capital city, residents stock-up on essentials. Forecasters say the floods could reach Bangkok in the coming days.
Heavy monsoon rains have also affected parts of Cambodia where more than 200 people have died so far in flooding or landslide related incidents.
Government officials are helping with relief efforts... rice, noodles, and water has been distributed to nearly 1000 families along with a cash donation of about $2.50 each.
Officials say 300,000 families have been displaced with damage costs running at $100 million.
