Devotees celebrate birth anniversary of Sikh guru in northern India

Sikh devotees organized a religious procession, 'Nagar Kirtan' and chanted religious hymns celebrating the birth anniversary of a Sikh guru, Guru Ramdas Ji in Amritsar city of India's northern Punjab state.
Hundreds gathered at the prominent Sikh temple, Golden Temple on Saturday to witness the procession and offer prayers on this auspicious day.
The procession was led by saffron-dressed 'Panj Piare', believed to be the five beloved disciples of the Guru followed by the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Sikh religious scripture, placed on a palanquin.
Guru Ramdas Ji is the 4th spiritual leaders of the Sikhs and believed to be the founder of the city of Amritsar.
