Oil spill off New Zealand coast

A container ship that hit a reef off the coast of New Zealand earlier in the week continues leaking oil, officials said Friday.
The "Rena" ran aground on the Astrolabe Reef about 22 kilometers from the coast, and has created a five kilometer long oil slick.
Officials say the salvage operation has been made more difficult because of the position of the ship on the reef.
New Zealand maritime authorities have dispatched an aircraft to monitor the extent of the slick, and are using helicopters to spray the area with oil dispersants.
A wildlife rehab center has been set up for animals who've been affected by the spill... these penguins are amongst the first patients.
Local media say at least four birds have died, due to the slick which is expected to reach shore.
