Trick-or-treaters looking for inspiration this year may want to stop by Grauman's Chinese Theatre, where some of Hollywood's most iconic costumes are being displayed.
Here's Marilyn Monroe's Gold lamé pleated halter gown from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", Vivian Leigh's green velvet drapery gown from "Gone With the Wind", and Judy Garland's blue and white checkered dress from "The Wizard of Oz".
But if you're looking for more of an edgy look, try Arnold Schwarzenegger's leather duds from "Terminator 2".
Alwyn Hight Kushner, the director of operations, notes one important similarity between the costumes and the venue.
(SOUNDBITE) Alwyn Hight Kushner, the director of operations, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, saying (English):
"Almost of all of these significant films actually premiered at the Chinese Theatre throughout its history. And a lot of the actors who wore these costumes actually have their hand and footprints in the forecourt."
The "Hollywood Legends Collection" features accessories and props, including jewels and headgear worn by Elizabeth Taylor in "Cleopatra", as well as the tablets Charlton Heston used in "The Ten Commandments".
Nearly 1,000 costumes and items will be on rotating display in the lobby of the theatre.
