How To Make Caprese - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. I am going to show you how to make two very simple fun appetizers. Everybody loves these. It is caprese in two different styles, one on a crostini and the other on a skewer. So I have baked, just with a little butter, garlic and some herbs, Italian herbs, I have baked the crostinis. So once the crostini comes out of the oven, let them cool off and they should be a little firm for a bite. Get tomatos and mozzarella and we have basil. Take the tomatoes, and we slice the tomato, then you lay a piece of mozzarrella on the crostini. You take a piece of the tomato and you lay that on there. To chiffonade basil, we just take the leaves, we roll them, roll them up and then you finaly, finaly slice, and it comes out chiffonade, which means very finaly cut. From here you just drizzle some of those on there. Then you take balsamic. Balsamic, you can do your own balsamic if you wish. These days a lot of stores have reduced balsamic ready to go. It is a time saver for you. If you want to make your own you just take it and you reduce it very slowly until it is about a fifth of the original size. It will be syrupy and sweet and you could drink this it is so lovely. And then you take it and just drizzle. And then you have your caprese. Now to make one a stick you are taking the little mozzarellas. You take this, you wrap it around the tomato, you skewer the tomato, and then you pop on one of the small mozzarellas. And there you have it on a stick. And again you can drizzle the balsamic on there. Caprese at a party is probably one of the most popular appetizers. They are fun, they are easy to do. You just assemble them. Apart from the crostini, which you can sometimes you can buy a crostini ready made, but just toasting the. it is very easy, and you pop them on a plate and you cannot make them fast enough.
